Sruthi Subramanian
Award-winning Filmmaker
Hi, I’m Sruthi.
I’m a filmmaker and producer who has always been drawn to people and their stories.
I love the process of bringing an idea to life, but what I enjoy most about filmmaking is the people I get to do it with. Every project brings together different personalities, perspectives, and ways of working, and I’ve learned that being a good producer is just as much about understanding people as it is about keeping a production on track.
I’m a big believer in empathy. I try to put myself in other people’s shoes, whether that’s a crew member having a long day, a director trying to protect their vision, or someone who just needs to feel heard. I think that understanding helps me communicate better, build trust, and create an environment where people can do their best work.
I’m naturally curious, I like solving problems, and honestly, I enjoy figuring things out when things don’t go exactly as planned. At the end of the day, I want to make meaningful stories with good people and be someone they’re glad to have on their team.
That’s what filmmaking means to me.
I’ve Produced a documentary, shot another as cam-op, and worked on chefATL, a SCAD-produced docuseries in collaboration with WABE-TV (PBS-30), as a Production Coordinator.

I worked on chefATL, a SCAD-produced docuseries in collaboration with WABE-TV (PBS-30), where I served as the Grip for Episode 1 and as the Production Coordinator for Episodes 6 and 7. I managed scheduling, sent regular updates to the crew, coordinated catering for over 60 people, and helped resolve production conflicts across departments to keep everything running smoothly.
